Sorry that you evidently received't think me - or Microsoft. Various other issues to attempt/test. I have got no concept if you've attempted these stuff or not really. Are usually you able to rename documents/folders on a differentexternal hard commute from this system? If not, then possibly whatever infection you got damaged Home windows documents. If this is the situation, then you can test the System Document Checker (sfc /scannów), or a repair install, or do a clean install of Home windows. There will be no method for me to know the precise state of your pc from here or what would become best for you to perform.
Can you rename files/folders on the unique external hard drive if it can be connected to another personal computer? If okay, the problem póints to your originaI computer's opérating system being damagéd by thé virus.
If nó, then the trojan probably damaged the documents on the external drive. This is not unusual, particularly if you had been infected with some kind of ransomware. Again, I have got no method of understanding with what you had been infected. If you can rename files/folders on a different hard drive, you might also wish to consider moving the information off the challenging external, format it, and viewing if you can rename documents right now. And thát's all l've obtained. Good good luck in your efforts. I don't have got anything else to include to this line.
WD NTFS driver for Mac: how to fix WD hard drive read-only on Mac? Posted by Katrina to NTFS for Mac on December 13th, 2017. I have a WD My Passport 2TB Portable external hard drive. This external hard drive is NTFS formatted and I used with a Windows laptop before switching to a Mac (MacBook Pro Server with macOS 10.12 High Sierra).
Can't delete or rename files on external hard drive solved I've got a perfectly readable usb external drive. But suddenly I can't move, copy or rename the files. It brought me to a webpage on Seagate's site, where it clearly indicated the drive was initially set up to work with a Windows PC. If I wanted to use it with Mac OS or Time Machine backup (which is my intent), I'll need to format the drive for my Mac. Both are working perfectly, but would like to change names of the Passport drives to Backup and Data respectively. Outlook 2011 for mac badge icon is not working. I can bring them up in Finder, but don't see any option to rename them. If I can rename them, I won't risk accidentally saving data files to my Backup drive.
